Our most aggressive treatment, this virtually changes the entire dynamics of the soil and root zones of treated trees. We start by carefully hand-digging 10-inch wide by 6-8 inch deep radial trenches originating from just beyond the trunk - past the drip line. We then drill 2-foot deep holes in between these trenches throughout the entire root zone. We remove the soil from the trenches and holes and replace with our custom designed compost/soil mixture.

Included in this mixture are four different varieties of high quality compost, indigenous leaf litter which we inoculate with protozoa and nematodes. We finish this process by adding mychorrhizal fungi. These trenches and holes act as nutrient leaching fields for years to come.

With our pressurized air spade, we can excavate the soil around a tree without risking damage to the bark or the roots. In this way, for trees that were planted too deeply, we can remove soil or mulch that can cause tree diseases, and we also examine roots of trees (finding choking roots.) If soil around a tree is too compacted, the air spade relieves compaction by discharging air into the soil.
